Opposition to the 'New Armenia - New Catholicos' Movement Intensifies at the Mother See

The daily newspaper 'Hraparak' reports that fierce resistance was demonstrated against the 'New Armenia - New Catholicos' movement on Saturday by the residents of Voskhehat village, led by the brother of Garegin II. According to some information, they were on standby at the Mother See, waiting for the protests. The commander of the team awaiting those demanding the resignation of the Catholicos was the son-in-law of village head Gevorg Nersisyan.

It is worth noting that on Saturday, they greeted the protesters demanding Garegin II's resignation with eggs, animal dung, and stones, causing bodily harm to several participants of the movement with wood and stones, two of whom have filed reports with the police. They also broke the windows of the car belonging to Father Koryun, one of the leaders of the movement, and a forensic examination was scheduled for two individuals; however, no legal proceedings have been initiated yet.
