Spitaktsi Hayko Suspected in Fatal Hit-and-Run

A horrifying incident occurred yesterday on Khandjian Street, where a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle for the second time. According to reports from Gagik Shamsyan, a significant operational and investigative effort by the law enforcement agencies led to the discovery of the driver and his vehicle, who had left the scene after hitting the pedestrian near Vernissage.

The driver, 46-year-old Haykaram Ghivondyan, is publicly known as the singer "Spitaktsi Hayko," and the vehicle in question was a Range Rover Stratstone with the license plate B 861 HC 777 RUS.

It was also revealed that the Kia involved in the incident was being driven by 43-year-old Arayik Chibukhchyan, a resident of Yerevan who serves in the Armenian Ministry of Defense’s N military unit. The deceased pedestrian was identified as 68-year-old Knarik Petikyan, also a resident of Yerevan. By order of investigator Gor Tadevosyan, the Range Rover has been moved to a specially protected area of the Yerevan Traffic Police, while "Spitaktsi Hayko" underwent a medical examination, which confirmed that he was sober at the time of the incident.

According to sources, the investigator has ordered a forensic examination of the body, after which it will be determined whether the victim died from the impact of the Kia or the Range Rover. Drivers A. Chibukhchyan and "Spitaktsi Hayko" have been released under signature.
