Armenian Police Response to US Embassy
The US Embassy in Armenia has issued a warning to its citizens traveling to the country during the holiday season.
We want to inform that the crime situation in the Republic of Armenia does not pose a cause for concern; it is safe for both Armenian citizens and tourists, and is under the constant supervision of the police.
Numerous international organizations have assessed Armenia and the capital city, Yerevan, as safe. The police and other law enforcement agencies have all the necessary capabilities and resources and are doing everything to maintain this assessment and ensure public safety. Especially during the holiday season, the police are obliged to transition to enhanced service.
Previously, we reported that the US Embassy in Armenia warned its citizens to remain vigilant when visiting Armenia. “During the holidays, the US Embassy reminds American citizens of the need to be aware. The number of thefts, pickpocketing, and residential burglaries may increase during this period,” stated the embassy's announcement.
