Most Right-Hand Drive Cars Cannot Have Their Steering Changed: "Right Steering" Initiative
Most right-hand drive cars coming from Bagratashen cannot technically have their steering changed, and in cases where they are changed, they become dangerous. This was stated by David Gasparyan, a member of the "Right Steering" initiative, during a conversation with journalists.
"You see, the same Nissan brand has a Skyline model that has an analogue with left-hand drive, which is very easy and safe to change. However, the same Nissan has a 7-seater Elgrand that does not have a left-hand drive analogue. Even in Georgia, Azerbaijani specialists who change steering wheels do not want to change the steering for any amount, because they understand that it becomes very dangerous," he said.
According to David Gasparyan, citizens have gathered in this initiative because they feel deceived. "On the customs information board, it was written and posted that the ban on right-hand drive vehicles is effective from April to October 1. However, a person might have bought a right-hand drive car in September or July, only to reach Bagratashen and be told that what is written on the wall is not the reality," he added.
