"Chivchiv Aro's" Younger Son Released on Bail

The younger son of Chivchiv Aro, Serge Vardanyan, has been released from custody on bail due to accusations of hooliganism and robbery.

This information was confirmed by Vardanyan's attorney, Vahe Danielyan, in a conversation with NEWS.am’s correspondent. He mentioned that Judge Harutyun Manukyan of the Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction granted the defense's motion, allowing a bail amount of 2 million AMD.

Currently, there are two criminal cases against Vardanyan being examined in court.

One pertains to the hooliganism and robbery incidents that occurred at the “Afrikyaner” restaurant complex in 2017, while the other concerns a case of hooliganism involving violence against Iranian-Armenian Shant Magharyan in 2014.

Vardanyan was arrested due to the hooliganism case from 2017, and the court has released him on bail specifically for this case.

According to the indictment conclusion, on September 12, 2017, Serge Vardanyan allegedly stole a gold chain valued at 148,000 AMD by forcefully pulling it from Karen Gasparyan's neck inside an Opel Astra parked on Hrachya Kochar Street in Yerevan.

Furthermore, on November 26, 2017, Vardanyan and two of his friends reportedly grossly violated public order, displayed open disrespect towards clients and employees at the restaurant, cursed, and argued with a waiter who had cautioned them, subsequently using violence against the waiter.

It is also noteworthy that Serge Vardanyan's older brother, Sargsyan Vardanyan, is currently in custody as well. He is accused of violating traffic rules and leaving the site of a traffic accident that occurred on January 8, 2018, resulting in the deaths of two police officers on duty. This case is also under investigation in court.
