18-Year-Old Girl Stabs 17-Year-Old Boy; Criminal Case Launched
The Investigative Committee of Armenia has announced that an 18-year-old girl has been charged in connection with the stabbing of a 17-year-old boy in Yerevan.
Earlier, it was reported that on December 3, at 19:15, a notification was received from the "Saint Gregory the Illuminator" Medical Center indicating that a 17-year-old resident of Yerevan had been admitted with a diagnosis of "stab wound to the chest."
During the preliminary investigation, information was obtained indicating that the young man sustained his injuries on December 3, 2018, around 18:10, during an altercation in a tunnel leading to the Children's Railway on Zorapi Street.
Investigative measures and operational intelligence led to the identification of the perpetrator, an 18-year-old girl residing in Yerevan, born in 2000. The preliminary investigation revealed various circumstances of the incident. Specifically, it was found that on the day of the incident, the girl had engaged in a dispute with the 17-year-old boy and his three friends while in the tunnel with seven other individuals, which resulted in a scuffle during which she stabbed the 17-year-old with a knife, causing serious injuries.
Based on sufficient evidence, the 18-year-old girl has been charged under the first part of Article 112 of the Criminal Code of Armenia. As a precautionary measure, she has been placed under a written commitment not to leave.
