Video: The Case of Aram Harutyunyan May Be Part of a Larger Chain - Marukyan

The criminal case opened against Aram Harutyunyan is not the only corruption incident; it may be part of a larger chain. This was stated by Edmon Marukyan, a member of the National Assembly from the 'Elk' faction, during a conversation with reporters in the Parliament.

'In the end, the subsoil of Armenia has been sold this way, our factories have been privatized and plundered in a similar manner. And now is the time to deal with all of this. But it’s a very large job, so we need to have competent personnel to engage with it step by step,' said Marukyan.

Responding to comments from the representatives of the Republican Party regarding this being a pre-election show by the authorities, Edmon Marukyan noted that he does not see any pre-election trick in all of this: 'If this were a surprise... we would all know; it wouldn't be news. Ultimately, the Prosecutor General cannot come to the Parliament empty-handed, waving his arms, and attempt to submit a request for the detention of any MP.'

It should be noted that the issue of stripping Republican MP Aram Harutyunyan of his immunity was supposed to be discussed today, but there is no quorum in the Parliament.
