Urgent: Two Pilots on SU-25 During Flight, Details Revealed

It has already been reported that around 10:20 AM today, contact was lost with the SU-25 combat aircraft of the Armenian armed forces, which was conducting a training flight as part of its daily combat readiness plan.

During a news release by Aurora Media, the spokesperson for the Armenian Ministry of Defense, Arzrun Hovhannisyan, stated that the aircraft belongs to the Ministry of Defense of Armenia and that there were two pilots on board at the time of the flight.

According to Shamshyan.com, the SU-25 combat aircraft was found in a gorge in the administrative area of the village of Bardarashen near Maralik. In a conversation with Aurora News, Arzrun Hovhannisyan did not officially confirm the information, indicating that these were merely rumors.

As reported by SHANTNEWS.am, the aircraft crashed near the villages of the Ani region. Two individuals were on board: one was a lieutenant colonel, and the other a 28-year-old young man.

Later, information was received from the village of Panik in the Artik region that the training aircraft had crashed in the vicinity of the village, but village mayor Vardan Makeyan reported that nothing had been found in the area of the village near the mountains.

As of now, no additional details about the loss of contact with the aircraft have been uncovered.

Arzrun Hovhannisyan also told the media that both helicopters and ground rescue teams are participating in the search for the aircraft and its two pilots, which lost contact during flight with the training center. He indicated that they have a general idea of where to search for the aircraft—around the area near Maralik, where the search operations are being conducted.

The aircraft is a training version of the SU-25UB, and in the event of an accident, the pilots could have ejected using parachutes.
