Investigation Launched into the Crash of the SU-25 Military Aircraft

The Deputy Head of the Investigative Committee, Artak Krkyasharyan, who is also the Chief of the Military Investigative Main Department, is currently at the accident site where the SU-25 military aircraft of the Armed Forces has crashed today.

According to the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia, an investigation has been initiated into the incident involving the crash of the SU-25 military aircraft.

A team from the investigative body is en route to the site under the leadership of Deputy Head of the Committee, Artak Krkyasharyan.

It is recalled that contact with the SU-25 aircraft, which was conducting a training flight as part of the daily combat training schedule, was lost on December 4 at around 10:20 AM.

The aircraft took off from Gyumri Airport at 10:06 AM.

Later, the SU-25 military aircraft was found in the mountains of the Maralik region. Two crew members, Lieutenant Colonel Armen Babayan and Major Movses Manukyan, lost their lives in the incident.
