Aliyev Attacks Artsakh from One Side, Pashinyan from the Other: Shahnazaryan

If an enemy proposes something beneficial in diplomacy, it means there is a significant trap involved, and Azerbaijan is not interested in maintaining peace. This was stated today by David Shahnazaryan, former director of the National Security Service and the third candidate on the Republican Party's electoral list, during a meeting with journalists.

He elaborated on what has occurred along the border with Nakhichevan and at the contact line between Artsakh and Azerbaijan.

“Since May, Azerbaijan has advanced its positions along the contact line with Nakhichevan. Initially, they claimed this was happening on their part of the border, but after it was explained to them that there was no established border, and that there hadn't been any border markings during Soviet times between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the tone changed. A few weeks ago, there was a new announcement from the Ministry of Defense acknowledging that, yes, there had been an advance of Azerbaijani positions, but in their part of the neutral zone,” highlighted Shahnazaryan.

He noted that attempts have been made to build hills along the Artsakh and Azerbaijan contact line since May, but these efforts have been continually halted by blocking fire. According to him, Aliyev has begun an attack from one side, while Nikol Pashinyan has started an attack on the leadership of Armenia and Artsakh from the other side.

“I am far from the idea that this is a consequence of inexperience; this is politics, and some forces helped him come to power,” he said.
