Director of Gyumri Conservatory Embezzles Over 121 Million Drams

The director of the Gyumri branch of the Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory has embezzled approximately 121 million AMD from funds allocated to the organization between 2012 and 2017, transferring the money to a non-governmental organization he manages, after which the funds were misappropriated.

In addition, he also embezzled another 3,000,000 Russian Rubles from funds allocated by an international foundation for the purpose of organizing a festival in 2015, using fake invoices and bills to falsely claim that the money was spent on accommodating festival participants in hotels.

The National Security Service of Armenia warns once again that the proper management of budgetary funds will always remain under operational control, and all necessary measures will be taken to prevent and uncover instances of abuse and embezzlement.
