Car Falls into Voghji River in Syunik, Driver Dead
Today, around 15:00, the Ministry of Emergency Situations received a report that a car had fallen into the Voghji River at the 319th kilometer of the Yerevan-Meghri highway. According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, rescuers retrieved the body of a man from the river.
Police and rescuers located a Toyota Land Cruiser vehicle in the river. Witnesses at the scene reported that the deceased was Arthur Mkrtchyan, a resident of the village of Barekavan in Syunik province, who had been missing for three days and was being searched for by his relatives. At this time, police are waiting for investigators from the Investigative Committee of Armenia’s Syunik regional department to arrive at the scene.
