Who Will Attend the Meeting of the CSTO Member States' Leaders: Nikol Pashinyan or Ararat Mirzoyan?

On December 6, at the meeting of the leaders of the CSTO member states, Armenia will be represented not by the acting First Deputy Prime Minister, but by the Prime Minister. This was stated by the acting First Deputy Prime Minister Ararat Mirzoyan in response to a question from Armenpress, denying information that he was to attend the meeting on December 6.

"That's not the format for the first deputy prime minister to go. It's a format for presidents, and Armenia will be represented by the prime minister. I will not be going," said Ararat Mirzoyan.

Moreover, the leaders of the CSTO member states will not elect a new secretary general at the alliance's assembly on December 6. This was stated by the advisor to the Armenian Prime Minister, Arsen Gasparyan, to RBC. As there are no other meetings of the CSTO leaders scheduled for this year, a new secretary general will not be elected until 2019.

"The issue of the secretary general will not be discussed. The agenda has already been sent to all participants of the meeting in St. Petersburg," said Arsen Gasparyan.
