New Facts About Kocharyan's Sons' Military Service

Following the well-known statement by acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Robert Kocharyan's younger son published photos yesterday and attempted to refute Pashinyan's claims regarding the military service of Kocharyan's sons.

According to information obtained by Haykakan Jamanak, Sedrak Roberti Kocharyan graduated from the Faculty of Economics of Yerevan State University in 2004 and was drafted for mandatory military service in June 2005 to the Ministry of Defense's military unit No. N (Preservation and Maintenance Battalion, Yerevan), from where he was assigned to the legal department of the Ministry of Defense as a clerk. He reported for service in a 'normal work' mode from 09:00 to 18:00 and did not stay overnight in the barracks.

His brother, reserve sergeant Levon Roberti Kocharyan, graduated from the Faculty of Law of Yerevan State University in 2006. From June 2006 to June 2008, he served his mandatory military service in the now-dissolved military unit No. N of the National Security Service of Armenia (Yerevan).

Throughout Levon Kocharyan's service, he was assigned a vehicle with state registration number 404 SS 02, a 'Vaz 2121', which allowed him unrestricted access to the military unit at any time of day. However, he did not have any specific duties as a driver and did not stay overnight in the barracks. Occasionally, he would sleep in the commander’s assistant’s office.

The images he published were taken during a camp gathering in the Lori region.

Interestingly, according to some reports, after completing their service, or shortly thereafter, Kocharyan’s sons have had accounts totaling ten million dollars or more.
