Shoigu's Scandalous Message to Yerevan: Armenia Maintained Its Sovereignty Thanks to Russia

The Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, Sergey Shoigu, stated that Armenia has been able to maintain its sovereignty due to the efforts made by Russia in the last decade of the 20th century.

During a meeting of a special working group of the Russian Security Council, the official also declared that Moscow's support has played a decisive role in removing the republic from energy isolation.

Shoigu emphasized the deep historical ties between the two countries, adding that the Armenian and Russian peoples are connected by centuries-long friendly relations as well as a shared history of fighting against foreign invaders.

According to the Russian official, this shared historical path and established traditions serve as the foundation for bilateral relations, which have also been expressed during complex periods in Armenia's recent history.
