A powerful earthquake with a magnitude of 5.6 has struck the Battalgazi district of Malatya province in Turkey. This was reported on Wednesday, May 20, by the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) of the Turkish government.

The tremors were recorded at 9:00 AM local time (GMT+3). The earthquake occurred at a depth of 7.03 kilometers.
