Only One Hour Was Needed for Me to Make a Decision: Trump
US President Donald Trump has announced that the United States may have to strike Iran again. As the White House leader noted, he had almost made a decision to launch an attack but then postponed it. “Only one hour was needed for me to make a decision about starting today,” Trump clarified, referring to his previous day's statements that the attack was delayed at the request of intermediary states.
He also assured that Iranian leaders are asking for a deal, but in the absence of an agreement, a new US attack would be carried out in the coming days. “Well, I mean in two or three days, maybe Friday, Saturday, Sunday, or something like that, maybe the beginning of next week. A limited time frame, because we cannot allow them to acquire new nuclear weapons,” he said.
Later, US Vice President Jay D. Vance stated that the United States and Iran have significant progress in the negotiating process, and neither side wishes to resume military operations. Vance mentioned that he had just spoken with Trump, and the President emphasized that Washington's main goal is to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. According to the Vice President, otherwise, Persian Gulf countries would also seek to obtain nuclear weapons, which would be followed by other countries. “We want the number of countries with nuclear weapons to remain small, and that is why Iran cannot have nuclear weapons,” he added.
