Moscow's Wish to Benefit from Cooperation Well Understood, Says Shoigu

Russia understands Yerevan's desire to benefit from cooperation with Moscow, but it is a "two-way street." This statement was made by the Secretary of the Russian Security Council, Sergey Shoigu, during a meeting of the special working group of the Security Council.

He specifically noted: "In 2025, Armenian citizens working in Russia sent almost $3.9 billion back home. This constitutes nearly two-thirds of the total remittances or about 13 percent of the country’s GDP. Citizens of the country work in the Russian Federation without quotas, permits, or work licenses, benefiting from equal healthcare, pension, and social security. Russia supplies Armenia with goods at prices three times lower than the market rate. Russia's share in Armenia’s total trade turnover is 36 percent. Our country ranks first in terms of both exports and imports. These include natural gas, flour, grain, fertilizers, and gasoline," said Sergey Shoigu, Secretary of the Russian Security Council.
