Argument Escalates to Stabbing: Suspect Arrested in Sevan Youth Murder Case

A report regarding bodily harm was received by the operational management center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on the evening of May 19. The Sevan Medical Center reported that a 29-year-old man was admitted with stab wounds.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the personnel from the Criminal Police of the Gegharkunik Regional Department and the Community Police of Sevan determined through operational-search measures that on May 19 at 21:00, a 24-year-old resident of Sevan had an argument with the 29-year-old man during which he stabbed him, causing bodily injuries.

As a result of operational measures taken by the police, the 29-year-old was found, arrested, and taken to the Community Police Department of Sevan.

Hours after the incident, the medical center reported that the 29-year-old Hovhannes Poghosyan had died without regaining consciousness. The prepared documents have been transferred to the investigative body, and a criminal case has been initiated.
