Murders in Turkey: Perpetrator Kills 6 People, Including Ex-Wife

In Turkey's Mersin province, in the districts of Tarsus and Çamlıyayla, a 37-year-old man named Metin O. has killed six individuals, including his ex-wife. The assailant also wounded eight others.

The events unfolded when Metin O. visited a meat shop-restaurant in the Kadehli neighborhood, where he had worked around a year prior. He opened fire with a pistol on his former colleague Ahmet Erçin and the shop owner Sabri Pani before fleeing in a white vehicle.

During his escape, he stopped in another neighborhood, where he shot and killed truck driver Göka Selvioglu at a gas station. In the same area, he encountered Abdullah Kocay, who was on a motorcycle, and ran him over, resulting in the motorcycle overturning and the rider's death.

Following reports of the serial killer, the Mersin police implemented measures to locate the perpetrator. Helicopters and canine units participated in the search efforts. The suspect ultimately found himself cornered and committed suicide.
