A Man Transported Citizens from Artik to Yerevan for a Rally and Paid Them Afterwards

Officers from the Artik community police department, acting on information received on May 14, discovered that a 28-year-old resident of Artik had transported a group of fellow citizens to Yerevan in his 'Nissan' vehicle on April 11, in exchange for payment, to participate in a rally organized by one of the political parties. After the rally, upon returning to Artik, he paid them the promised amount.

On May 14, the 28-year-old was found and arrested in Artik. In his statement to the police, he reported that he had initially agreed to meet with his 34-year-old acquaintance, who had promised to gather people for the political party's rally in the capital, pledging to pay 20,000 drams for each person. He agreed to this arrangement.

Subsequently, on April 11, he transported four fellow citizens with his car to the capital, where they participated in the rally at Freedom Square. According to the 28-year-old, after returning to Artik, his 34-year-old acquaintance gave him the promised 100,000 drams, from which he distributed shares to the fellow citizens who participated in the rally; two of them also filed reports regarding this matter. A criminal case has been initiated against them.

Both the 28-year-old and the 34-year-old residents of Artik have been arrested. A public criminal prosecution has been launched against them.
