VIDEO: Results of Large-Scale Operations: Hundreds of Weapons Removed from Circulation

The discovery and confiscation of illegally held weapons and ammunition hold significant importance for public safety. The consistent efforts of the police across all directions of the National Police aim not only at preventing criminal acts but also at protecting the lives and health of citizens.

From January to May 2026, as a result of the measures taken by police units—through explanatory work among residents and large-scale searches conducted across the republic—825 units of weapons and a substantial quantity of ammunition have been identified, confiscated, or voluntarily surrendered.

In order to strengthen public safety, the National Police will continue its explanatory work among the population, persistently conducting measures aimed at discovering and removing illegal weapons and ammunition from circulation.

The National Police reminds that individuals voluntarily surrendering illegally held weapons or ammunition will be exempt from criminal liability.
