Armenian Citizens Will Make the Decision: Mher Grigoryan's Statement
Armenia clearly understands the impossibility of simultaneously being part of both the European Union and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), and when the need arises, a corresponding decision will be made by the citizens of Armenia. This was stated by Armenia's Vice Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan in response to a question about whether Armenia would exit the EAEU and if there would be a referendum on this issue, considering the impossibility of the Republic's presence in both unions.
“We understand very well that Armenia cannot be a member of both the EAEU and the EU at the same time, and it is evident that in the future we will need to make the corresponding decision. Moreover, that decision will certainly be made by the citizens of Armenia. Currently, there is no such necessity,” said Mher Grigoryan.
At the same time, Grigoryan drew attention to the fact that “Armenia is a full member of the EAEU, conducts constructive cooperation, and participates fully in discussions and the decision-making processes.”
