Video: Election Commission Member Offers Bribe, Details Revealed
The officers of the Shengavit division of the community police, acting on operational information received on May 13, established that a 49-year-old resident of the village of Nor Kharberd, while serving as a member at one of the electoral precincts, offered 50,000 drams to a 68-year-old fellow villager in exchange for voting for one of the participating parties.
The police reported that during the arrest, the 49-year-old man attempted to flee in his 'Toyota' vehicle, but this was prevented. He was arrested on solid suspicion of bribery and taken to the Shengavit division, then presented to the Anti-Corruption Committee with the prepared documentation.
It should be noted that offering or receiving electoral bribes, as well as violating the prohibition against charitable acts during the elections, are criminal offenses. We urge everyone to refrain from unlawful actions.
