New Strict Penalties for Giving or Taking Bribes Will Be Introduced, Simonian Explains
The President of the National Assembly, Alen Simonian, has announced that a new legislative initiative is being introduced regarding the giving or receiving of bribes. According to the new proposal, stricter penalties will be established for these offenses.
Specifically, the previous penalty of up to 8 years of imprisonment for giving bribes will be replaced with a new maximum of 10 years. Similarly, the penalty of 7 years of imprisonment for receiving bribes will be increased to up to 9 years.
