New Regulations on Military Service Eligibility: Who Can Be Recruited into the Army

The government has made amendments and changes to the decision regarding 'The List of Diseases Determining the Degree of Fitness for Military Service for Citizens or Soldiers, as well as Defining the Conditions for Military Service Contraindicated for Citizens or Soldiers.' Specifically, certain definitions in the decision do not allow for candidates who have significantly impaired functions to be considered, but after recovery and some restoration of functionality—through assistive measures (such as crutches, prosthetics, or in some pathologies, a wheelchair)—the ability to move has been restored. This will allow these individuals to reapply and be recruited for contract military service.

As a result of the proposed changes, citizens with certain health conditions will also have the opportunity to be recruited into contract military service.
