Children Illegally Held in Armenia Returned to Belgium
The Ararat and Vayots Dzor regional court has ruled in favor of the Ministry of Justice of Armenia, mandating A. J. to return the children to the Kingdom of Belgium. This decision comes after the Enforcement Service reported on the execution of the court order.
Due to A. J.'s failure to comply with the court order, the Enforcement Service's regional division for Ararat and Vayots Dzor worked diligently to ensure that the children, who were illegally transported from Belgium to Armenia a year ago, were returned to their country of residence just days ago.
According to information received from the central authority of the Kingdom of Belgium, under the Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction dated October 25, 1980, the minors O. and E. Z. were returned to Belgium accompanied by their father, A. Z.
Various agencies were involved in this process, including the Ministry of Justice's Civil Registration and Administrative Affairs Agency, the Department for the Assurance of International Obligations, and members of the Armenian police.
