YouTube Announces Launch in Armenia
YouTube has officially announced the launch of the YouTube Partner Program (YPP) in Armenia starting from May 11. This initiative allows content creators operating in Armenia to fully utilize the platform's monetization toolkit. The news was reported by BTAN.
The YouTube Partner Program is a platform through which creators, artists, and media can earn revenue from the content published on the site. The program will officially kick off on May 11, following the agreement made during the visit of U.S. Vice President Jay D. Venzi to Armenia on February 10.
Starting May 11, Armenian content creators who meet the company’s criteria, which include having at least 1,000 subscribers and either 4,000 hours of watch time on their main videos in the past 365 days or 10 million views on short videos in the past 90 days, will be able to apply for the YouTube Partner Program and start monetizing their channels through ad revenue.
David Allen, U.S. Chargé d’Affaires in Armenia, stated: “The expansion of the YouTube Partner Program in Armenia is rooted in a broader agenda of U.S.-Armenia technological cooperation, including the memorandum of understanding signed last year regarding artificial intelligence and semiconductor innovations. This program will allow individual creators and entrepreneurs to expand their activities, amplify their creative voices, shape new economic opportunities, and generate jobs in our countries.”
The YouTube Partner Program is a tool that enables content creators, artists, and media to earn money on the platform. Worldwide, more than 3 million creators are members of the YouTube Partner Program, and in the past four years, YouTube has paid them over $100 billion. “The company’s revenue distribution model is based on the simple idea that YouTube’s success is directly proportional to the success of content creators,” he added.
