Fired Shots After Missing Target in Hit-and-Run Incident

The investigators of the Yerevan Investigative Division of the Investigation Committee of Armenia, led by Roman Mahmoudyan, have uncovered a particularly serious crime that occurred in Yerevan days ago, thanks to extensive investigative measures and professionalism displayed over several days.

The suspect, after firing several shots at his victim, pursued the victim in his 'Mercedes GLE' upon realizing the target was fleeing. He then hit the victim with his vehicle and, upon seeing that the victim had died, fled the scene.

According to Shamshyan.com, the body of the deceased was later transported by unknown individuals to the 'Erebuni' medical center, from where they left. Officers from the criminal police department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia arrived at the hospital. Investigators from the Yerevan Investigative Division of the Investigation Committee also arrived on site.

A criminal case was initiated under the characteristics of 'murder', and criminal police officers, together with Erebuni investigators, began working on several hypotheses.

While information was being disseminated regarding the deceased, suggesting he might have died suddenly or been hit by a vehicle, Erebuni investigators, showing high professional skills, quickly clarified that the incident was not a sudden death but a deliberate murder. Through subsequent operational information, they determined that the suspect had been involved in an accident in Tavush region with the 'Mercedes' used in the fatal hit-and-run.

According to reports, the suspect, identified as 35-year-old Sarkis S. from Yerevan, approached his victim, 41-year-old Gagik Hakobyan, on Nubarashen highway, exited his vehicle, and fired several shots at him with a firearm. However, G. Hakobyan managed to evade the shots and fled, prompting Sarkis S. to pursue him in the 'Mercedes GLE', ultimately hitting him and causing his death. Ramirez subsequently attempted to escape, intending to cross the Armenian border into Georgia.

Upon reaching the 13th kilometer of the Ijevan-Dilijan highway in Tavush region, he veered off the roadway, collided with a concrete barrier, and ended up in the Agstev river, from where he was transported to the 'Dilijan' medical center.
