VIDEO: 13.5 Tons of Expired Food Destroyed in Armenia
According to a request from the "Konvekt" company, almost 13.5 tons (13,389.4 kg) of expired food, including confectioneries, biscuits, dried fruits, rice chips, chocolate creams, and teas, have been destroyed under the supervision and participation of inspectors from the Food Safety Inspection Body.
Products destroyed include various brands such as Augoust, Shtork, Ludvig Chocolate, Lindt, Haribo, Trolli confectioneries, Orion, Lyubyatovo, Belino biscuits, Pringles, Fry's chips, Fikasota dried fruits, and rice chips, as well as Wilhelm Reuss Lebensmitteln chocolate creams, and Veniro Trading teas.
The destruction of hazardous food items was carried out at a landfill located in the Sasunik administrative community of the Aragatsotn Province, involving a violation, hormone, and oral method. Throughout the destruction process, all transportation, environmental, and sanitary-hygienic safety requirements were maintained.
“The Food Safety Inspection Body prioritizes public health and continues to carry out control measures in both imported and locally produced food markets to ensure safe food for consumers,” stated representatives from the FSIB.
