Keep Your Head Up, Champion: Arman Tsarukyan Supports Khamzat Chimaev

Arman Tsarukyan, the number two contender in the UFC lightweight division, has addressed the recent defeat of his friend and former middleweight champion Khamzat Chimaev. The Armenian fighter showed his support for the Chechen athlete representing the UAE on his social media, hinting that the judges' decision was unjust.

Tsarukyan specifically wrote: “We fought to the very end tonight, and all followers know what really happened. Keep your head up, champion: you will soon reclaim your belt.”

In the main event of UFC 328 held in New Jersey, USA, Khamzat Chimaev lost to American Sean Strickland by a split decision (48-47, 47-48, 48-47). This loss caused Chimaev to forfeit his championship title and marked the first defeat of his professional career after a streak of 15 consecutive victories.

It has also been confirmed that Arman Tsarukyan will be the backup fighter for the main event of the UFC scheduled for June 15. He will be ready to step in for the lightweight champion Ilia Topuria or Justin Gaethje during their title fight.
