New Head Appointed to Ararat Regional Investigative Department after Vedi Incident

Gagik Arakelyan has been appointed as the head of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia's Ararat regional investigative department. This information has been provided by the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia.

Biography of Gagik Arakelyan
Born on December 11, 1992, in the city of Ejmiatsin, Armavir province.

Work Experience
2022-2026 - Deputy Head of the Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia (Senior Investigator of Particular Importance Cases),
2018-2022 - Investigator of the Department of Investigation of Electoral Crimes of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia, later Senior Investigator,
V-XII. 2018 - Investigator of the Department of General Crimes of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia,
2014-2018 - Investigator, later Senior Investigator of the Ararat Regional Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia,
VI-IX. 2014 - Investigator of the Ararat Regional Investigative Division of the Main Investigative Department of the Police of the Republic of Armenia,
2013-2014 - Investigator of the Syunik Regional Investigative Division of the Main Investigative Department of the Police of the Republic of Armenia.

Graduated in 2013 with a Bachelor's degree from the Law Faculty of the Police Educational Complex of the Republic of Armenia.

It should be noted that following the scandalous incident in Vedi, the head of the Ararat regional investigative department, Tigran Shohoyan, and the head of the Vedi investigative division, Lernik Vardanyan, have been relieved of their positions.
