Farmer Won't Just Sit at Home to Make Money – Gagik Tsarukyan

The leader of the Prosperous Armenia Party, Gagik Tsarukyan, held another meeting in the Norakert community of the Ararat region. Although the visit was not scheduled in advance, it took place at the request of the residents. The meeting was conducted in an open atmosphere and turned into a candid dialogue.

Tsarukyan reaffirmed his approach to personally travel to villages, listen to people's concerns, and answer their questions. “My goal is to go from village to village, talk to the people, and say my words looking into their eyes. Everyone wants to live well, wants peace, wants economic development, and wants to secure a future for their children. Everyone wants to take good care of their homes,” stated the leader of the Prosperous Armenia Party.

Key topics of discussion included security and the strengthening of borders. Residents expressed their desire to work peacefully, to which Tsarukyan emphasized the importance of steps aimed at eliminating the threat of war and focusing on the economy. He specifically said, “No one wants to fight. We must close the door to conflict firmly enough that we do not think about it.”

Addressing border services, Gagik Tsarukyan stressed that experienced professionals, rather than 18-year-old soldiers, should be stationed at the front lines. According to him, it is necessary to have trained specialists who undergo regular inspections.

In the field of agriculture, residents raised concerns about the rising prices of fertilizers (up to 13,000 drams) and the heavy burden of loans. The leader of the Prosperous Armenia Party proposed a state support option to provide interest-free funds based on the size of the cultivated land. “A farmer won’t just sit at home to make money. We must give people the opportunity to produce yield and abundance. Interest-free money should be provided according to land area so that farmers can work,” he noted.

Social issues and the fight against the spread of drug addiction were also discussed. Tsarukyan underscored the state and public responsibility to have a healthy youth. Residents expressed gratitude to the politician for his visit, noting that such a high-level visit had not occurred in their village for decades.

During the visit, Gagik Tsarukyan paid tribute to the memory of those who fell in defense of the homeland by laying flowers at a memorial. The meeting concluded with photos taken with residents and discussions about the future of the country.
