Armenia's Foreign Ministry on the Summoning of Its Ambassador in Russia

Official Yerevan has yet to respond to reports in Russian media that Armenia's ambassador in Russia has been summoned to the country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs. "If there is a response, we will inform you," stated Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ani Badalyan to NEWS.am.

Earlier, it was reported that according to Russian media, Armenian ambassador Gurgen Arsenyan was summoned to the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on May 7. The diplomat was informed that providing a platform for Zelensky in the republic, due to his threats of terrorism against Russia, is categorically unacceptable.

Additionally, yesterday, Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, mentioned during her regular briefing, "Yerevan has violated its promise not to take actions against Russia. The current foreign policy course of the Armenian authorities will, sooner or later, lead to Armenia's irreversible involvement in Brussels' anti-Russian agenda. The declaration of the Armenia-EU summit indicates that with the approval of the Armenian authorities, the country is being led towards aggressive Euro-Atlantic mechanisms. Vladimir Zelensky has taken advantage of the incomprehensible politeness of Armenian hosts to try to escape from political oblivion and voice his anti-Russian attacks."
