Germany Seeks Revenge, Medvedev Says

Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev stated in an article written for RT that Germany has always aimed to revise the outcomes of World War II. According to him, the German authorities officially adopted a path of "massive revenge" after the defeat.

The politician believes that Germany is diminishing the responsibility of its ancestors for the crimes of Nazism in public consciousness. Medvedev is convinced that there is nothing new in the actions of official Berlin, and attempts by the defeated state to revise the outcomes of the war began immediately after its conclusion.

The Deputy Chairman of the Security Council referenced the first concept of military strategy presented by Germany's Defense Minister Boris Pistorius. In that document, Russia is characterized as a threat to the "rules-based global order." Medvedev noted that according to this concept, Moscow is allegedly trying to weaken the unity of the alliance, hence communication attempts should be halted and military pressure on Russia should be intensified. In his wording, this means that the course of massive revenge has received official status.
