Fine, you’re taking advantage of today’s city authorities’ unprofessionalism and corrupt practices. This could go on,” wrote political figure Viktor Mnatsakanyan on his Facebook page.

“But can you or anyone explain the meaning of removing the proportionate, beautiful authorial, Tamanian entrance, completely distorting the building’s facade architecture, and instead creating an incomprehensible, meaningless, 'peasant' entrance? As much as the building is private and you can manage it, you can mislead the city authorities, you may not like the building or its facade, but you cannot disregard the city’s and the street’s architecture, its identity, and the memories of Yerevanians,” he wrote.
