Prosecutor General Addresses Incident Involving Minor Sisters in Vedi
The Prosecutor General of Armenia, Anna Vardapetyan, assures that the case of sexual violence against minor sisters in Vedi is under their close attention. During a discussion in the National Assembly, she stated, "The proceedings are being closely monitored by the Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia." Vardapetyan was informed about the incident immediately after it was publicized.
In response to concerns regarding the lack of an arrested suspect in the case, Vardapetyan noted that concerns related to pre-trial measures would soon be alleviated. "We will pursue a strict measure in this regard," emphasized Anna Vardapetyan.
It is noteworthy that the Investigative Committee reported that on February 12, 2026, the father of the minor sisters filed a complaint with the Vedi division of the National Police, stating that on February 8, V.E. had committed an indecent act taking advantage of his daughter's helpless state (who suffers from diagnosed intellectual disability).
