VIDEO: We will raise the point threshold, and in some violation cases, points will not be deducted – Arman Tatoyan
During a meeting with residents in the village of Ganjak in the Gegharkunik region, Arman Tatoyan, the prime ministerial candidate of the "Wings of Unity," addressed the issue of driver fines and the points system raised by resident Vardan Hayrapetyan.
Vardan Hayrapetyan stated at the meeting: "When Mr. Pashinyan came to power, he said that the people are not material for fines, is that right? Now, instead of treating the people justly, they have completely turned them into material for fines." He emphasized that it is impossible to avoid minor violations while being behind the wheel for 20 hours a day, and due to the flawed existing system, it has become impossible to manage financial obligations while also facing point deductions and paying fines.
In response to the citizen, Arman Tatoyan indicated that the current points system needs to be revised. He noted that the goal is to ensure road traffic safety but to ensure that drivers do not face unfair conditions and do not incur unjust fines.
It was also mentioned that under the "Wings of Unity" program, the point threshold is planned to be raised to 18 points. Additionally, categories of violations will be established, whereby points will not be deducted from drivers for specific infractions.
