VIDEO: Israel Acknowledges Lebanon's Accusation

The Israel Defense Forces have confirmed that during operations in the village of Yaroun in southern Lebanon, a religiously significant object was damaged.

According to IDF spokesperson Avichay Adraee, the incident occurred during an operation targeting Hezbollah's infrastructure, where a building was damaged that initially did not have any known religious affiliation. He noted that when relevant signs were spotted on other structures in the complex, military personnel took measures to prevent further destruction.

The IDF also claims that the area was being used to launch missile strikes towards Israel.

Prior to this, the President of the Lebanese Parliament, Nabih Berri, called for accountability against Israel for targeting mosques and churches in the southern regions of the country. He reported that on Saturday, Israeli soldiers had completely destroyed a historic Shia mosque in the area of Ed-Duweir near Nabatiyeh. Berri also mentioned that on May 1, the Sacre Coeur Catholic Monastery and school in Yaroun were shelled.

According to the parliamentary leader, the same soldiers are responsible for the destruction of the statue of Jesus Christ in Deir Siryan on April 19 and for earlier demolishing the Grand Mosque of Bint Jbeil.
