Protests Planned During EU-Armenia Summit Days: 'Hraparak'

The newspaper 'Hraparak' reports that mass protests are planned in Yerevan on May 4-5, during the EU-Armenia summit.

On May 4, protests will take place near the Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concert Complex, where the summit will be held, in support of Armenian prisoners and the right to the return of Artsakh Armenians. The demonstrations are organized by relatives of missing persons and prisoners, residents of Artsakh, as well as representatives of non-governmental organizations and various opposition forces.

A protest is also scheduled in Gyumri, where French President Emmanuel Macron will visit on May 5. Participants in the protest will attempt to meet with European guests and deliver letters to them.

Numerous letters have already been sent to European officials urging them to pressure Armenian authorities to release political prisoners, stop the campaign against the Armenian Apostolic Church, and organize free and fair elections.
