Iran's Strong Accusation Against the U.S.

Iran has accused the United States of failing to adhere to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. This claim was made by the Iranian Permanent Mission to the United Nations on the social media platform X.

“For 56 years, the U.S., as a owner of thousands of nuclear warheads and the number one proliferator of similar weapons, has been in a state of blatant non-compliance with its obligations under Articles I and VI of the NPT regarding non-proliferation and nuclear disarmament. The U.S. should not be granted any cover for their outrageous and hypocritical behavior,” the Iranian mission's statement reads.

It adds, “Legally, there are no restrictions on the level of uranium enrichment if it is carried out under the supervision of the IAEA [International Atomic Energy Agency], as has been the case for Iran.”
