White House Issues Statement Regarding Iran

The White House announces that it is engaged in "active negotiations" with Congress regarding the situation in Iran.

“President Trump has been open to communicating with Congress since before the initiation of the 'Wrath' operation, and administration officials have conducted over 30 briefings for members of both parties to keep them informed about military developments,” said White House representative Anna Kelly.

“The President has always favored diplomacy, and Iran is looking to strike a deal,” she added.

Kelly stated that “the administration is actively discussing this topic with Congress. Members of Congress who seek to score political points by usurping the commander-in-chief's powers are only undermining the credibility of the U.S. military abroad, which is something no elected official should do.”
