US Plans to Deliver Powerful Strikes on Iran
According to the Axios portal, citing informed sources, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) has developed a project to conduct a series of "short and powerful" strikes on Iranian targets, including infrastructure. The aim of this move is to break the deadlock in the ongoing negotiations over the nuclear deal.
The publication notes that CENTCOM has prepared a plan for delivering strikes on Iran, hoping to overcome the stagnation in the negotiation process. Following potential strikes on infrastructure objects, the United States intends to exert pressure on Iran's leadership. The goal is to compel the official Tehran to return to the negotiating table and show greater flexibility.
At the same time, Axios sources report that US President Donald Trump currently views the continuation of sanctions as the primary tool of pressure. Nevertheless, the president is prepared to consider the option of using military force if the Iranian side does not make concessions.
