Illegal Firearm Fired at Least 5 Shots, Insults Exchanged: Investigative Committee Details
The Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia has gathered factual data indicating that on August 14, 2025, a meeting occurred under the bridge leading to the village of Proshyan along the Yerevan-Ashtarak highway involving supporters of M. D. and A. T. During this encounter, the parties exchanged insults and struck each other.
During the incident, A. T. fired at least 5 shots from an illegally held firearm towards the opposing group, resulting in M. D. sustaining injuries that ultimately led to their death.
A. T. has been subjected to public criminal prosecution under the 2nd part of Article 155, point 7 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia (murder in a manner dangerous to others) and under the 1st part of Article 335 (illegal circulation of firearms and ammunition). He has been placed in custody as a preventive measure.
The materials of the criminal case have been forwarded to the supervising prosecutor with a request for approval and submission to the court.
