Discrepancies Found in Drinking Water in Gyumri: Public Health Authority
On April 21, cases of enteric infectious diseases were reported in the community of Gyumri, Armenia. A drinking water sampling was conducted, revealing discrepancies in the presence of coliform bacteria. This information was shared by the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
“Biological sample analyses detected rotavirus, adenovirus, as well as pathogenous strains from enterohemorrhagic and enterotoxigenic groups of E. coli. Appropriate measures have been taken and relevant authorities have been informed. Currently, the situation is under control, with no active spread of the outbreak being recorded, and epidemiological data indicate a downturn in the process. The condition of those seeking medical assistance—both outpatients and inpatients—is satisfactory, and no new cases have been reported,” the statement said.
