Criminal Proceedings Initiated in Connection with Drinking Water Contamination in Byureghavan
The investigative committee of Armenia has initiated criminal proceedings regarding the contamination of drinking water in Byureghavan. This action was taken at the Kotayk Regional Investigative Department under Article 412, Part 1 of the Criminal Code, which pertains to the circulation of raw materials or products, the execution of works, or the provision of services that do not meet safety requirements.
As reported by AuroraNews, although the company 'Veolia Water' announced that no deviations were found in Byureghavan's drinking water, the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention reported today that samples of drinking water have revealed discrepancies, including the presence of rotavirus, adenovirus, as well as enterhemorrhagic and enteropathogenic coliform bacteria.
