Counterfeit Banknotes Circulated; Pre-Trial Investigation Concluded

The preliminary investigation regarding the circulation of counterfeit banknotes by a group of individuals has been completed in the General Directorate of Investigating Especially Important Cases of the Republic of Armenia's Investigative Committee.

During the investigation, it was revealed that M.H., together with acquaintances R.A., E.H., and N.K., sold a total of 1 counterfeit banknote of 100,000 AMD, 20 counterfeit banknotes of 50,000 AMD, 1 counterfeit banknote of 20,000 AMD, and 5 counterfeit banknotes of 10,000 AMD to various individuals from May to December 2025, fraudulently misappropriating property worth 1,149,860 AMD.

Public criminal charges have been filed against M.H., R.A., E.H., and N.K. for 29 episodes of circulating counterfeit currency and committing fraud. M.H. and R.A. are subject to house arrest, while E.H. and N.K. are under administrative supervision. The criminal proceedings have been sent to the supervising prosecutor with an accusatory conclusion.
