All Information on Customs Processes in One Platform: Head of the State Revenue Committee
The State Revenue Committee has launched the ExIm information platform. Representatives from public and private institutions, international organizations, and participants in foreign economic activity were present at the event. The project was initiated by the State Revenue Committee with the support of the German government and through the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), in accordance with the requirements of the Trade Facilitation Agreement.
Committee Chairman Edward Hakobyan stated that the launch of the platform is an important step towards digital transformation and international cooperation. “At the core of our vision is the ambitious goal of positioning Armenia as a regional and global technology and logistics hub. We strive to create a system where the breakthrough digitization and integration of customs and tax processes will eliminate artificial barriers, ensuring a touchless, transparent, and predictable environment. The ExIm information platform is the realization of this vision and aligns with the principles of the Trade Facilitation Agreement (TFA) by removing informational barriers,” he said.
Hakobyan added that this is just the beginning and lays the groundwork for the introduction of artificial intelligence in customs administration.
Deputy Chairman of the State Revenue Committee Karen Tamazyan emphasized that the foundation of ExIm is the operational experience of the customs authority. According to him, the aim was to create a public and accessible environment where information would facilitate foreign economic activity.
The commercial attaché of the German embassy, Eva Meyer, highlighted that the initiative reaffirms Armenia's willingness to ensure transparent export and import procedures.
Features of the ExIm Information Platform
ExIm is a unified digital platform operating on the “one-stop-shop” principle for foreign economic activity participants. It consolidates all information regarding export, import, and transit, relieving businesses from searches across various state bodies. The system is multilingual.
Digital Platform for Everyone
The platform is accessible to all entities, ranging from small to large businesses, customs representatives, logistics companies, and start-up entrepreneurs.
Capabilities of ExIm
The system includes descriptions of customs procedures, legislation, lists of documents, deadlines, and restrictions. Users can familiarize themselves with declaration specifics, tariff regulations, payment rates, and treasury accounts. Simplified guidelines and sequences of steps are available on the platform.
Using the Platform: Simple and Fast
Access is free and does not require registration. Users select the direction, enter the product name or HS code, purpose, and country, after which the system provides complete data. Special calculators allow for the preliminary calculation of customs clearance costs, for example, when importing a vehicle. Information about complaint procedures is also available.
