Trump Calls for Broadcaster's Dismissal Over Melania Joke

U.S. President Donald Trump has called for the dismissal of Jimmy Kimmel from Disney and ABC following a sketch in which the broadcaster compared First Lady Melania Trump to a wife awaiting the return of her husband. This came the day before a shooting incident involving high-ranking officials during a dinner event, where the President stated that such a comparison is "beyond the bounds of acceptability."

The shooting incident occurred during the White House Correspondents' Association dinner, which Trump and his wife attended alongside other prominent figures. Days before this event, Kimmel made the comparison, likening the First Lady to a wife waiting for her spouse to return.

Prior to this, Melania Trump had demanded a response from ABC regarding Kimmel's remarks and called for action against him.

“Wow, Jimmy Kimmel… made a truly shocking statement during his show… The day after a crazed gunman tried to storm the White House Correspondents' dinner room… He was there for very obvious and sinister reasons. I understand so many people are outraged by Kimmel’s disgusting call for violence and normally would not respond to anything he says, but this is already beyond the bounds of acceptability. Jimmy Kimmel should be fired immediately from Disney and ABC,” Trump wrote on the Truth Social network.
