Obama Responds to Gunfire During Trump Reception

Former US President Barack Obama has commented on the gunfire that occurred at the Washington Hilton during a reception attended by President Donald Trump, stating that violence has no place in democracy.

“While we still do not have details regarding the motivations behind the gunfire that took place during the White House Correspondents’ Dinner last night, it is our obligation to reject the notion that violence has any place in our democracy,” he wrote on X.

Obama also emphasized the importance of the Secret Service's work.
